My Top 8 Outfit Post of 2015

This year in "Outfits" I feel really expressed me as a person. I'm very simple and love simple pieces but I can rock the hell out of them by dressing them up.
I'm pretty sure 2016 will be the same, unless someone puts a spell on me and your girl turns to the high heel life... JK! But on a real note my weight will be going down this coming year, since it is a high focus of mine. So a change in me wearing different "stuff/things" might just happen. It just won't go extrem as high street fashion but I'll keep it "Urban City Kid" for you...

PS: Thank You to everyone that has supported me on this journey. I see all of your repost, favorites and comments all over social media and I just can't express how much you all mean to me.
That being said 2016 is going to be a great year and I can't wait to share more with you.

Cortney's Fitness Letter #8

Hey fellow Shy Children!

It has been a minute since I checked in with you and I'm so very sorry. I always think people read my Twitter to get really fast updated information but I need to realize everyone didn't have or use Twitter like I do. So I'm going to fix that issue and actually keep updated on here too.
The last time I mentioned anything about health I told you I was going Vegan and that I was already Vegan for two weeks. Well that hasn't changed, I'm still Vegan two months later and I'm really loving it. I have way more energy, feel better emotionally and ever get so much more water in without even realizing it. I know it's not for everyone but taking small steps is the best way to go... with just about anything.

I know your probably wondering about my weight, since I haven't posted anything about it on here in a while too... let me update you. The last time I did a Weekly Weigh In I was 261.2 lbs and as of now I'm 254.0 lbs. That means I'm down 7.2 lbs since the last time I told you and as a whole I'm down 12 lbs. I have been at a stop with my weight, gaining 2 lbs then losing it... you know that struggle. But I haven't been hard on myself since this holiday season. I feel like we only live once and enjoying the holiday festivities and food is what I'm going to do. That doesn't mean I'm going to go crazy and say F everything, I worked so hard already but having some treats isn't going hurt me and I think you should do the same.

Now for the New Years!
It's going to get real and real fast. I'm not going to play when it comes to my weight loss because we can all lose so much weight in a whole year. I have already started taking the steps and process of planning by first asking for a cool planner for Christmas, I just have to get the fitness inserts when they become available January 1st and I have ordered two fitness magazines... Because why not. I'm already getting fashion and beauty magazines, so I might as well have fitness magazines come too. They ones I ordered are Shape Magazine (2 years subscription) and Health Magazine (1 year subscription) just for inspiration and motivation. I will also be on social media using the #FashionshychildHealth and posting on here every week for my Weekly Weigh In and once a month you will get a Fitness Letter with tips, advice, updates and more. So we are going to do this together as Fitness Pals and have lots of fun along the way. I have been thinking about making a Periscope, but not really sure how I will use it but I really want to be connected with you all.

If you have any suggestions and cool ways for use to stay connected and motivate each other, please share in the comments section.

PS: Don't forget that you can get a FREE Graze Box... That's healthy snacks portion controlled out for you. So get yours today

Framed Art Filled With Kisses D.I.Y

framed art filled with kisses 1
Hey fellow Shy Children!
With the Holidays around us and gift giving in full swing, finding gifts for special people that really don't want anything can be hard... But it didn't have to be! Certain people in your life like your grandma, mom or significant other really would just appreciate something from the heart (aka a home made gift).
Remember when you were in Elementary School and your teacher had you do cute little projects to give to your parents as gifts? Well those gifts really made you feel great to giving them away. But just remember how the person who received it felt!
So today I am going to be sharing with you a D.I.Y. I seen in the December 2015/January2016 issue of Seventeen Magazine. If you have the issue its on page 58 and the section is called, "Pretty DIY Presents". There is also two more DIY's on the page if you would like to do them but they will require a little more time and shopping.
Anyways, lets get started!

framed art filled with kisses 2

Things You Will Need:
Picture frame (any size you want)
1 piece of white printer paper
A pencil with and eraser
3 Lipsticks of your choosing ( I suggest a Dark, Medium and a light ... Not too light)
Tissue or Paper towel
*e.l.f. Kiss it goodbye lipstick color remover (not really needed but highly recommended)

framed art filled with kisses 3

1. Open up your picture frame and take the piece of paper it comes with out. Then take that paper of paper and line it up with your printer paper. ( I suggest lining it up with the corner of the printer paper to save paper). Now take your pencil and outline you stencil. Once you have it all outlined, take your scissors and cut out your new piece.

2. With the lipsticks you picked out and ready to go, place them in order from dark to light or the one you want to use first, second and third. This way you can trade out a color you don't think fits or when your ready to place on your lips it will be easier to apply.
I'm using Urban Decay Revolution "69", Revlon Super Lustrous "Berry Haute" and MAC "Candy Yum-Yum".

3. It's now time for you to apply your first lipstick to your lips. Once it is on, kiss your paper in different sections. When your done remove that lipstick color and repeat with the second and third lipstick colors.
PS: This is a messy part and removing the lipstick color from your lips can be hard. That why I recommend using the e.l.f. Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover.

4. When you are all done, let your lipstick kisses dry and then place your new art work into your frame... That's it! 

Day In The Life #2

Cortney Patterson
"Fashion Shy Child"

3:30 A.M.
The time my Alarm goes off to wake E up and go to the bathroom. After using the bathroom I will go into the kitchen and start the coffee maker or turn of the kettle for tea... Yes! A girl needs a keurig ... Point, blank...period!

4:30 A.M.
E heads off to work and I bring my laptop into the bedroom. I would go in the office to work but at this hour it's just way to early and cold to be setting at my desk. So while in bed with my laptop, I will text E and talk to him while he's waiting to start work, play app games, check all of my social accounts and even read and reply to e-mails... It's basically a half an hour of chill time.

5:00 A.M.
Now it is time to determine what I am going to do. If I have blogging or YouTube work to finish up or that I can start, i will stay up and do that. If I have nothing to do or I need day light to do it I will go back to sleep In tell 7:00am.

6:45 A.M.
Walk time! It's time to leave the house for a 2 mile plus walk. I try to get this in at the least 3 times a week but some mornings it can really be hard due to morning weather. But when I do go out, it usually takes about 45 min depending on the route.

8:15 A.M.
I'm dressed and ready to take my Outfit pictures if I need too. I have been taking my own outfit of the day pictures a lot since having this new schedule change and know one being here to help me out. Since I'm doing it by myself it can kinda be a long process but it's really worth the time at the end. I do this once a week for my blog.

9:00 A.M.
Meal Time! I will make myself hot oatmeal, cereal or left overs from my dinner before. It really all depends on my mood and how hungry I am at the moment.

9:20 A.M.
Work on the computer or get things ready for filming.

10:30 A.M.
If I'm going to film a video, this is the time I would get everything set up and started.

12:00 P.M.
Snack time and a 10-20 minute break.

1:30 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.
I can really be doing a lot of different things in this time block. It really all depends on the work I have to do. A lot of the time I will just chill in tell its time to make dinner.

4:00 P.M.
This is the time I will start making dinner. If I have to make something for my meat eating family I will start a little early because frying and baking meat can take time. The dinner I make for myself is of course super fast and easy, since I am a Vegan and a lot of the time I will have stored away rice and beans already made.

6:00 P.M.
This is the time I usually relax from after cooking and eating. So I will find something to watch on TV, lay on my bed and maybe even watch YouTube videos from my phone or play app games.

6:30 P.M.
Time to take a shower if I didn't do so in the morning and brush my teeth.

Get Silky Smooth Legs for Summer 1

7:10 P.M.
I'm back to laying on my bed and having convocations with E and waiting for my sister to call me, since she gets off around this time.

8:15 P.M. - 9:30 P.M.
I will be going to sleep around these times, to be able to get a full nights rest to get back up at 3:30 A.M. If a good movie or show is on and it runs over 9:30 I will finish it and then go to sleep... But nothing too late.

One Cheetah Two Cheetah

I have been obsessed with watching Nat Geo Wild's "Big Cat Week". It has literally been the only channel/show I have been watching since after Thanksgiving. I'm so fascinated, that I even skipped Black Friday to stay home... But let's be real, Black Friday deals are only really good on Electronics (got a new TV a week before) and highly expensive things. So I really didn't miss anything.
I bought these leggings 3 years ago, on the forever21 website in the plus size section. At first I wasn't  expecting them to be high quality because of the price and the store they came from. But they are actually really good quality and have a thicker texture than your regular leggings. And can we say, Big Wild Cat! ...Yesss!

ImPress With Your At Home Manicure

impress 8
A lot of us live really busy lives, from shuffling school, work and trying to make the most time spent with our families can becomes overwhelming and the last thing you really want to think about is your manicure.
But I'm sorry to break it to you, the holiday season is literally right around the corner and along with food, family and cheer comes your appearance. You have to look your very best and you know it! Pictures will be taken, long distance family members will be seen and the last thing you really want is people talking about your horrible nails/manicure.
I know what your thinking, "But I don't have time to make an appointment or walk into a nail salon"... Or "I spent so much money already, I just can't fit a manicure in my budget".

Well friends, I have a solution and I guarantee you will think me. At Walgreens for the very low price of $7.99, you can get a pack of ImPress Press-on nails that are easy to apply and look absolutely amazing. So amazing people will think you spent way more money than you did and wonder how you even made time to get your nails done with your busy schedule.
So the two packs I have and love are Boogy Down (nude ultra shine gel nails with glitter accent nails) and Tweetheart (red ultra gel shine nails with heart gem accents) The one I will be using to show you how easy they are to apply is Boogy Down... So let's get started!
This application process should only take you 5-10 minutes since there is no drying times and no mess.
First thing you are going to want to do is take off any old nail polish and wash your hands because you are going to need a clean nail canvas to work on. Once that is done, read over packet instructions. You can find the instructions located on the back of the packaging and even inside the box with your nails... How convenient is that! Now you are going to want to line up your nails according to your actual nail size. I found this part to be super easy and was done in less time than I attended it to take. Once you have them all picked out and lined up, take the prep pad and clean your nails. Then pick up the nail you want to apply first and pill off the backing to uncover adhesive and simply press on... It's that easy! No drying time and no mess and safe on your natural nails. The ImPress Press-on Manicure does use UltraHold Technology to keep nails on for 5-7 days. If you have sensitivity to nail glues, this set is really perfect for you since its basically just a super strong sticker on your nails. When your done applying all of the nail, the package does come with a mini nail file so you can file them down or shape them but other than that the mega gel shine and the natural shape will have your nails looking flawless!
Make sure you check out to be inspired and pick out the best color and accents for any occasion or function coming up in your life. But most importantly always remember your nails don't have to suffer just because you have a hectic life... ImPress Press-on Manicure is always there to save the day.
