Hello, I’m Cortney— the voice behind Fashion Shy Child.

Bay Area BLOGGER

Fashion Shy Child is a lifestyle blog rooted in real life — the kind of life where comfort matters, budgets matter, and getting dressed shouldn’t feel like a struggle. What started as a love for fashion and beauty has grown into a space focused on everyday style, honest routines, and choosing what actually works.

I write for people who still care about how they look and feel, but don’t want to try so hard anymore. People who want life, style, and routines to feel livable, not perfect.

What You’ll Find Here

Fashion Shy Child focuses on lifestyle, personal style, beauty, and motherhood, all through a realistic lens.

Here, you’ll find content about:

  • Comfort-first outfits that work for real bodies and real days
  • Beauty routines and product testing, including Dollar Tree finds and budget-friendly options
  • Motherhood and caregiving, shared honestly and without pressure
  • Daily routines, mindset shifts, and life transitions
  • Intentional shopping — what’s worth buying, what isn’t, and why

I’m not interested in trends that don’t translate to real life or recommendations that ignore comfort, fit, or price. If something works, I explain why. If it doesn’t, I say that too.

My Approach

This space isn’t about fixing anyone or dressing for who we’re “supposed” to be.

It’s about:

  • clothes that support your life, not complicate it
  • beauty routines that feel manageable
  • honesty over hype
  • ease over proving

A lot of what I share comes from paying attention — to what I actually wear, what I actually use, and what I keep reaching for when life feels full or overwhelming.

Becoming a parent shifted how I manage my time, energy, and expectations. Fashion Shy Child reflects that change. It’s less about keeping up and more about choosing what feels supportive.

Who This Blog Is For

Fashion Shy Child is for anyone who:

  • wants to feel put together without overthinking it
  • values comfort as much as style
  • shops intentionally and reads reviews before buying
  • feels tired but still wants to feel like themselves
  • prefers real examples over perfection

If you’ve ever felt overlooked by mainstream fashion or disconnected from lifestyle content that doesn’t reflect real life, you’re welcome here.

A Little More About Me

I’m based in the Bay Area, raising my daughter, and learning how to move through life with a little more intention and a lot less pressure. I’m drawn to quiet moments, repeat outfits, simple routines, and anything that makes everyday life feel lighter instead of heavier.

Fashion Shy Child isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about noticing what works, letting go of what doesn’t, and allowing that to be enough.

Thanks for being here.
